Valentine Gift Idea #7 is to create a heart box to use for your sweetie’s favorite treats or small gift.  They are easy to make with the help of your die cut machine and really add a personal touch to your gift.   I used the Cricut BOX IT UP Cartridge which has this adorable box with heart cut outs.

If you have never cut and assembled a box, have no fear.  I am sharing tips and a video today on how to assemble the box once it is cut out.  After you make it, then all you have to do is decide what treats to add to it and you are all set to show your Valentine how much you love them !

STEP 1: Select a Box to cut out.  I love this Cricut Box It up Cartridge because it has 50 different boxes to choose from.  You can see the full cartridge and purchase it HERE.

STEP 2:  Determine how many sheets of cardstock and/or patterned paper you need to use to make your box.  After looking at the diagram in the Box It Up Handbook, you can see the handbook HERE, I was able to determine I would need 3 sheets of cardstock for the base box and top and 1 piece of patterned paper for the decorative inserts. STEP 3:  Cut out your box.  I cut mine in Cricut Design Space by sizing it all grouped together at 11.25″ X 11.25 inches.  This gave me a finished box size of about 5″

STEP 4:  Assemble your Box.  I use Scotch Quick Dry Glue and Scor Pal Tape to assemble my boxes.

Watch the Video to see my tips on assembling the box in action.

ADDITIONAL HELP TO FOLD THE BOX BASE UP can be found in the handbook if you scroll all the way down to the last few pages.
