Every wonder why there are 3 different Cricut mat grip types? Well, they each have been formulated to perfectly hold in place certain types of materials while using your Cricut Cutting machines. Read on to learn more about each grip type.
There are 3 Grip Types and they are easy to tell apart because each is a different color.

I have used all three of these grip mat types and found they are definitely great with each of the material types listed. I particularly like the Strong Grip Mats to keep those heavier materials in place like chipboard and glitter paper since I use those often. I even have 1 mat designated for Glitter cardstock so I don’t spread glitter everywhere ! Plus I have 1 Standard Grip mat that I only use for vinyl. Do you have mats designated for different materials ?
