Valentine Die Cut Project Ideas

February 14th is Valentines Day and time to send your loved ones a little Valentine treat.  I am going to post 7 project ideas (one each for the next 7 days) to help inspire you to create something special for your Valentine sweeties.

Valentine Idea #1 – Lip Balm Holder Card

Time to PUCKER UP for the perfect Valentine Smooch !  People are finding these round lip balms in a couple of different brands at various stores like CVS, Walgreens, Dollar Tree, Target and others .  These are from from CVS and are the 360 Beauty brand but the ones I used today are the EOS brand.  These are the same size.  Some of the other brands are slightly smaller in size.

Now for the fun part….you can take any die cut image and add a hole in it and place the lip balm in the hole and you have an adorable gift !

Frog Prince EOS Holder

This an adorable Frog Prince from the Create A Critter TwoCricut Cartridge .  To make it easier, I just used the Print Then Cut feature in Cricut Explore to print these out and cut.  So I didnt even have to do all the paper piecing myself.  I printed them out on 110 lb white cardstock (Georgia Pacific brand for Walmart) so that it stiff enough to support the weight of the lip balm.

Cupid Bear EOS Holder

And here is the super cute Cupid Bear from Teddy Bear Parade Cricut Cartridge.  All you do is open the lip balm and insert in the hole and screw the lids back together.

Wanna see how I made these exactly?  Watch the video for tips on using the Cricut Explore to make them.  But really, you could do this with any die cutting machine.

So wouldn’t these make the perfect Valentine Gifts for kids or friends ? Be sure and stay tuned for the other 6 days of Valentine projects coming up !

If you make a project, I’d love to see it! Please share in our Facebook Group Community where you will find others sharing their projects, tips and inspiration.

  1. Debbie — I love your videos and am learning so much. My really dumb question for today is:
I use a Mac and an iPad predominately. Waiting patiently for iPad to arrive!

BUT: I bought a pc to work with my Explore and don’t know how to save your wonderful BOX card link in pc.

Do I go to this site or youtube on pc an then save the free links you provide. Watching the video, I thought you would give links. I got confused at the end and don’t know how to save your FREE design studio files needed to make the darling Box card. Please HELP!

    1. Hi Jayne – thanks for the compliments on my videos. When you click on the Design Space file link, it should take you to Design Space and open up there. Then you just save it in your Design Space files. You do not save it on your computer.
