If you haven’t heard, Cricut just released a Disney FROZEN Digital Cartridge.  Right now it’s only for Cricut Explore and Design Space users.  But later in 2015 it will be a physical cartridge that you can purchase and also in Cricut Craftroom. But for now, all the Cricut Explore users are really enjoying it. You can read all the details including how to find it in Design and how to purchase it through Design Space in my blog post HERE

Like many households, we LOVE the movie FROZEN at our house. It’s such a great story.  Do you have a favorite character?  Well I do, it’s gotta be Olaf the snowman.  He is just so optimistic and helpful…we could all take a clue from him.

As a Cricut Product Expert/Beta Tester, I had access to a few of the images a little ahead of everyone so I made this Shadow Box project.  It was so fun and easy to put together. Thought I would share my supplies and instructions for how I made this.

Supplies Used

  • 8 X 8 Shadow Box Frame (purchased at Michaels Craft Store)
  • 1 sheet of white glitter cardstock cut to 8X8
  • 2 different white/blue/silver decorative ball packs (purchased at Michaels Craft Store)
  • 1 pack of rhinestone self-adhesive swirls
  • 1 sheet of Cricut Printable Vinyl (for Olaf image)
  • 1 sheet of Cricut Printable Sticker Sheet
  • Glue Dots
  • Cricut Explore and Cricut Design Space
  • Ink Jet Printer (- I use an HP Envy 5660 that I LOVE ! )
  • Disney FROZEN Digital Cricut Image Set

Directions:

1. Open up the shadow box frame and remove the liner piece.

2. Measure and cut the white glitter cardstock to fit inside the frame and adhere with to inside of the frame backing.

3.  Use the Cricut Explore and Design Space and the Olaf image from the Disney FROZEN Digital Cricut Image Set to print on the Cricut Printable Vinyl using the Print Then Cut Feature. Sized at    . Apply the Olaf image to the lower right corner of the frame.

4. Use the Cricut Explore and Design Space and the “want to build a snowman”  image from the Disney FROZEN Digital Cricut Image Set to print on the Cricut Printable Sticker Sheet using the Print Then Cut Feature.  Sized at       .  Apply the “want to build a snowman” image to the upper top left of the white glitter paper.

5.  Select a variety of the blue, white and silver decorative styrofoam balls.  Using a glue dot, stack them up on the lower left corner white giltter cardstock.   Make sure that Olaf image will show up well when laid over the stacked balls in the background.

6. Strategically place one of the balls on the white glitter cardstock backing so it looks like it is in the hand of Olaf when you add the frame over the backing.

7. Adhere some rhinestone swirls (you may cut pieces to fit your frame size) to the white glitter cardstock as the finishing touch.

8. Add the backing piece to the frame and you are all set !

This was easy to make and really didn’t take too long. Make it for your own holiday decor or to give as a gift to a FROZEN movie fan.

If you make a project, I’d love to see it! Please share in our Facebook Group Community where you will find others sharing their projects, tips and inspiration.

Debbie – In your instructions for the “Do you want to build a snowman” shadow box the sizes for Olaf and the sentiment are missing. If you happen to remember what they are, please share? I’d love to make one of these for a couple of granddaughters for Christmas. Thanks in advance!
